Opera Mini - System Administrator
Location: Beijing, China

You will be working with highly qualified system administrators and  
developers in the Opera Mini team - your task will be making sure that the  
large-scale Opera Mini server farms keep running well and keep up with the  
rapid usage growth.

Responsibilities
- Optimizing efficiency and geographical load balancing
- Large-scale systems configuration management
- Monitoring and incident management
- Capacity planning and load testing

Requirements
- Linux/UNIX system administration experience
- Candidates with strong scripting/programming background will also be  
considered

Ideals (one or more)
- Large-scale system administration experience on Linux
- Network equipment experience (Cisco/Juniper)

Senior Product tester - Mobile & Device

Location: Beijing, China

Help bring the Opera Browser to millions of mobile phones and other  
devices by leading Chinese companies. Enable people across the world to  
enjoy the best Internet experiences and Web technologies on mobile phones,  
set-top boxes, portable media players, networked TVs, web tablets and  
other devices.

The position as product tester is located in the QA department of Opera  
Software ASA. The main task of this department is to ensure that all Opera  
Software products will adhere to our vision - "the best Internet  
experience on any device". You will be a part of our skilled team of  
software testers and work closely with developers and project managers to  
ensure that we can release all our products with the best possible quality.

Responsibilities
- Product testing on a variety of mobile handsets.
- Writing and executing test plans.
- Writing documentation, such as test reports, etc.
- Proactively reporting defects and issues.
- Writing test cases.
- Direct communication and follow up with customers.
- Managing, analyzing, and maintaining bug reports

Requirements
- The ability to communicate in English (both written and oral). Other  
language skills in addition to this may prove valuable.
- Experience with more than one operating system.
- Understanding of Internet security
- Knowledge of network protocols
- Excellent skills in the (X)HTML and CSS Web standards
- Experience using ECMAScript and knowledge of its specifications
- Good knowledge of end-user browser behaviour.
- More than 2 years experience with regards to quality assurance, test  
procedures, and software/product testing.
BS or MS in computer science or equivalent.

Opera is seeking exceptional and experienced embedded engineers to  
continue our innovation and market lead in mobile browsing on the UNIX  
platforms. In addition to the well known Opera for Linux desktop browser,  
Opera is also available for a growing number of embedded platforms running  
Linux.

Responsibilities
- Participate and contribute in all parts of the software development life  
cycle
- Innovate, design and deliver new features and versions
- Take initiative and ensure timely delivery

Requirements
- Drive and commitment to work in a highly dynamic environment
- Good knowledge of web standards
- Good working knowledge of English
- BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent
- Strong C++ skills and firm understanding of object oriented programming

Ideals (one or more)
- A solid flair for making outstanding user interfaces
- Experience with optimization of embedded platforms for speed, footprint

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced sales and business  
development professional to advance their career and work with a great  
team. You will be responsible for Chinese sales of Opera browser. In this  
role, you will interface with electronics manufacturers, handset vendors  
and operators in China to communicate the Opera value proposition and  
aggressively drive sales. You will play a key role in expanding Opera  
Software's customer base and operations in China, as part of a dynamic and  
international organization.
